I want to add a child who isn't at the school - is this possible?Right now, you can only add children who have a linking code from school. We are looking to change this in the future so that all children can benefit from Pageticker.

How can I send a message to my child's teacher about the book they are reading?You can do this when you record reading. Go to reading log, click on the plus, select the book and anything else you would like to. At the bottom of the page there is a comments section which is optional. There you can a message in the comments section.

The book is too hard for my child, how can I discard an unfinished book?Firstly, we recommend adding a comment to their teacher in the log reading section. Then go to their book stack, click on the title of the book. This will open up a window where there will be a synopsis. At the bottom of the page there will be an archive book button. This will then remove the book from their book stack.

What is Pageticker?We're an app for parents, and a dashboard for teachers, designed to promote reading engagement in schools. Also, an excellent replacement for the physical reading record. Soon we will have exciting book discovery, community features and a sprinkle of extrinsic motivation.

Can more than one parent/guardian log reading for a child?The short answer is, yes - the linking code you received from school can be used to link up to two adults. If you would like to link more than that, as your child's teacher to generate another code.

My child doesn't have an assigned book, what should I do?You can either assign a book yourself by going to the book stack and clicking on the plus icon (this will allow you to scan the book or add one through a manual search). Or if you are not feeling confident with what to choose for them, ask their class teacher.

My child has completed a book, can I remove it from their book stack?Yes, if your child has completed a book, you can archive the book from their book stack. On the parent app, click on the book stack icon. Then from their book stack, click on the cover of the book. Underneath the synopsis, there will be an archive book button, click on this to archive their book.

What do the terms reading rate, accuracy, expression and comprehension mean?Reading rate is the speed at which a person reads. Reading expression is how someone uses tone to convey meaning. Reading comprehension is the child's understanding of the meaning of a text. Reading accuracy means the ability to pronounce written words accurately.

I forgot to log reading yesterday, what can I do?Click on the pencil icon to create a reading log. Then click on the date and a calendar will appear. You can then select the date and add reading as you normally would.

Can I link to more than one child?You can link to as many children as you like: go into Settings, then choose "Add a child" and type in the linking code you will have received from school.

How can I manually add a teacher onto the Teacher Dashboard?The data that we rely on should be pulled across from your Wonde connection. However, we do realise that sometimes you might have other additional adults that you would like to add manually. If you go to the Teacher Dashboard and the account tab, then select team, there will be an add a teacher button on the right hand side of the page.

How can I see who hasn't been reading?On the Teacher Dashboard, under the class filters heading, there is a didn't read yesterday and has not read this week filter. You will need to make sure that you have selected the relevant class but then you will be able to see which pupils from your class haven't read recently.

Can I log reading as a teacher?If you would like to log reading as a teacher, you can do this from the Teacher Dashboard, by clicking on the book icon to log reading. This can currently only be completed on an individual basis, rather than whole class.

My pupil has lost their login details, how can I retrieve them?Log onto the Teacher Dashboard, select the name of the pupil and click on the button 'Print Letter Home.'

How can I send a message to my whole class about their reading?Yes, if you log onto the Teacher Dashboard, click on the broadcasts tab. Click to add a broadcast, type your message, select your audience - whole school or class and click on create broadcast.

Can Pageticker be used offline?Whilst Pageticker can't be used offline, parents can select an earlier date when adding a reading log. So they catch up retrospectively, if they miss a day.

How can I trial Pageticker?Only teachers with academic email addresses can trial Pageticker. To start your trial: - Sign up with your academic email address - Verify your email address and sign in to the teacher dashboard - Explore the dashboard, and generate a linking code for the test student - Download the Pageticker app for parents and link to the test student to trial the parent experience and generate some new reading data When you are happy with your trial, follow the prompts in the teacher dashboard in order to take out a subscription for your school.

How much does Pageticker cost?Pageticker costs between £99 and £299 per year per school, depending on the size of your school.

How can I monitor if a child has been reading over time?Log onto the Teacher Dashboard and click into the date range box, using the calendar start date that you are looking for. You will then be able to see the reading that has taken place on a 7-day rolling period from then. For example, if I select Wednesday 20th November 2024 I will see reading until Tuesday 26th November 2024.

How do I import student data?Once you have taken out your subscription - the first 14 days are free - then you will be prompted to connect to synchronise your school MIS to Pageticker using Wonde, our integration partner. This will keep your data fully-synchronised, reorganising students at the start of a new school year and automatically adding students who have joined your school, for example. This is the only method we allow to import student data. This is to maintain the integrity of our data, to ensure no duplicate accounts are created or data is lost.

How can I encourage a parent to log a child's reading if they forget?On the Teacher Dashboard, you can send a nudge to a parent. This will send the parent an email to encourage them to log their child's reading.

How can I see the number of pages a child has read?On the Teacher Dashboard, hover over the circle next to the pupil name. You will then be able to see the number of pages read by a child on a certain day.
